We have Rick Steves excellent travel guide for Iceland. We are spending 2 nights in Reykjavik in August. We wanted to ask if anyone has any moderate priced restaurants that they consider a "must do". Thank you
What do you consider moderate priced?
$40-$50 per person
Our favorite place in Reykjavik was Messinn. Excellent food!!! We found this by doing a food tour, and went back on our last night. I HIGHLY recommend the food tour! We booked through Wakeup Reykjavik and did it on our arrival day. That worked perfect as it was enough for lunch and dinner, kept us moving, and of course you get to try a number of places.
I did a food tour with Your Friend in Reykjavik - a combo of history tour plus samples of food in a bunch in different restaurants. I found it a good value considering the prices in Iceland. If you like beer, the Skúli Craft Bar has a decent happy hour and interesting local brews on tap.
Thank you for the suggestion of the food tour. I did check it out for when we arrive, but they have their employee recognition day then, so no tours. Food tours are always great!
