Hi! I’m 24 and am looking to do a solo Iceland trip this summer. I’d like to rent a car for two days so I can explore at my own pace. Does anyone have any recs especially companies that won’t overcharge too much for under 25?
You might give Auto Europe a call: www.autoeurope.com. They are a consolidator located in the US (Maine) and their website shows 4 of the major US companies for Iceland. They could help you locate which one will rent to you. We have used them several times, and others on the forum use them as well.
When we were in Iceland recently we used Atak: www.atak.is. On their website, under 'Booking Guide', they say you must be 20 years old to rent. They will pick you up at the airport, or at a hotel in Reykjavik. They were very efficient and helpful.
Iceland has a 0% alcohol tolerance, so no drinking and driving at all.
