Recommendation for 2 days Jokulsarlon lagoon/south coast tour

Hi, We will be in Iceland the last week of September this year. We will be taking tours as we decided not to rent a car. We have already booked the full day golden circle tour and the one day South coast tour. It seems that booking an overnight tour is better as we can go as far as Jokulsarlon lagoon and Vik and be able to see more. There are some tours and I wonder if anyone here in the forum has any experience or recommendations. Thanks.

Our trip was 4 years ago, in April. We rented a car for a few days after our guided tour, to go farther northwest from Reykjavik, and also drive our own Golden Circle Plus tour, but to get to Jokulsarlon, have a guided glacier trek, and do other things with a private guide/driver for the 2 of us, we booked with Icelandic Mountain Guides, a very professional, quality outfit.

They also do major expeditions, but have 2 day “short break” tours. Our guide was going to be moving to Denmark soon to look for a business career, so he’s maybe not there anymore, but their people are highly trained and we had a great experience. Check out www.mountainguides.is

Thanks a lot Cyn. I will look into the site you mentioned. We were also looking into the Guide to Iceland.

Just returned after spending ~5 days in Iceland.

Jokulsarlon lagoon is a must do. Better to stay overnight in Vik on your way back (we did that). We liked Blue Lagoon a lot though it is touristy. The Museum of Icelandic Natural wonders (Perlan) is decent if you are passing by Reykjavik. We also walked the Lava Tunnel & liked that ... but off all these things "Jokulsarlon" is a top one along with South Coast tour.

We did take the Amphibian boat tour & liked that. There is another kind of boat ride you can take - RIB boats which are faster & take 6 passengers. If you want to do that you need to book in advance. (We did not book that before so could not do that ... however the Amphibian was good as well though lots (& lots) more people).

We did not do the Glacier walk, but that would probably be good as well though time consuming.
