My husband purchased Frog Togs, but I worry they won't be sufficient. Has anyone used them in Iceland?
Welcome to the forum, janice.ostock. I've not heard of that brand, but it looks like it doesn't get very good reviews on Amazon for durability. Assuming they are fully waterproof and have decent zippers/closures as long as he's cautious putting them on and off hopefully they will be ok. I'd pack some tenacious tape just in case of rips. IMHO, the bigger issue in Iceland is often the wind (brutal).
Have him put them on and take a cold shower. Or stand in the yard while you spray him with the hose.
A good tip I got here on the Forum is to wear a ball cap (preferably one with a waterproof bill) to prop up the hood of your rain jacket.
I’ve never heard of them and the reviews don’t look very good. Iceland, like Ireland is probably not the place to try and skimp on waterproof.
Many of the Iceland forums have people who recommend them, but I personally thought they seemed very flimsy. We opted for REI rain pants, as they are high quality and very comfortable. They also have many sizes to get a good fit, and they can be worn comfortably over a pair of hiking pants. Of, course, they're more expensive, but we felt it was worth it. (We also live where it rains quite a bit!)
We've taken our Frogg Toggs rain jackets and pants on three trips to Iceland. I love them. They keep me warm and dry.
