private tour guide in Reykjavik

can anyone recommend a private tour guide with transportation for Reykjavik?
we are a group of 8 people arriving on a Celebrity cruise and would like to see what is available to us.
we probably would want around 4 hours walking/driving tour.
please let me know if anyone has any options.

thanks
Teresa

Most tour companies that provide private tours do that outside of Reykjavik, such as to the Golden Circle, Snaefellsness etc. For a tour right there in Reykjavik, you don't need a driving tour at all as the city is quite compact and very easy to get around on foot. Your Friend In Reykjavik does all sorts of walking tours, including private ones, so check them out. They do have a private tour that involves driving within Reykjavik, but honestly, unless someone in your party has mobility issues it is just easier to walk. We have used them for the food tour a couple of times and they are great.

Ditto the suggestion from mikeliz97 - I loved my food tour with Your Friend in Reykjavik. They have other themed walks available for private groups (vikings, cats, sweets, folklore, art, shopping). If the price is too steep, they have public guided walks too. Depending on when you're arriving you may need to book soon, even the group walks could book up with a big ship in town.

CL brings up a good point. There are many public walking tours. We have done the Citywalk "free" walking tour a couple of times and it is very good. It does not cost per se, but you tip what you want at the end. You can only book a week out, and it fills up very fast, so you need to mark it on your calendar if you are interested. They do also have small group and private walking tours.
