Parliament Hotel - anyone stayed there?

I haven't, but I usually check Booking.com reviews as only people who have actually stayed at a property can leave a review. Looks pretty swank (to me) but has a great location and a top review score (400+ reviews) https://www.booking.com/hotel/is/iceland-parliament-curio-collection-by-hilton.html

I have not stayed there, but am very familiar with the location, which is very good.

So, I got online to check out more reviews and rates for the two days we wanteded a room for and the Parliament was definitely one of the more expensive rates I have been quoted.....about $800 or so a night without breakfast. So, since we wanted to be near the Parliament Hotel since our NatGeo/Lindblad cruise uses that as a meeting point for departure, we looked up hotels in Rick's book and found the Hotel Reykjavik Centrum which is right by the Parliament and booked there for less than 50% of the Parliament including breakfast.
Thanks for all the reassurances that it is a great neighborhood.

The Centrum is excellent! We are staying there again in August.

I stayed at Center Hotels Plaza just a few blocks from the Hotel Reykjavik Centrum - it is indeed right in the middle of everything. I enjoyed the Settlement Museum that is right by your hotel. Also recommend Skuli Craft Bar across the street. Enjoy!
