Need help with 19 day trip plan

We're planning 19 days with a rental car and relying lots on the Steve's guide for where to go and things to do. But my itinerary doesn't include many 2 night stays or any 3 nights in one place. I fear We're moving too much. Please comment on our plan. Are any of the legs too short? Too long? Is there a better plan to work in a 3 night stay or two somewhere along the route? Any advice is appreciated!

Day 1-2: Arrive early in Reykjavik.
Day3: Golden Circle to Selfoss.
Day 4: to Vik
Day 5-6: to Scaftafel
Day 7: to Hofn
Day 8: to Seyoisfjorour
Day 9-10: to Myvatn
Day 11: to Laugarbakki via Siglufjordur
Day 12-13: to Flateyri
Day 15: to Patreksfjordur
Day 16: to Stykkisholmur via ferry
Day 17: peninsula tour and on to Borgarnes
Day 18: tour Reykholt Valley on way back to Reykjavik
Day 19: tour Reykjanes Peninsula

Lots to see and do in Iceland, but it looks like a real go-go-go itinerary, more than I’d try. Our only trip, so far, was just for a week and a half, before Rick had put out a guidebook. We used the Lonely Planet guidebook as our main reference.

I would’ve loved more time, and we would’ve gone to more destinations if we’d been there longer. Still, we had 4 nights in Reykjavik, which allowed time for a whale watching tour, a northern lights tour (this was in April), and seeing the city, including some performances. The 4th night was the night before we flew home.

We rented a car for the other part of the trip. Much of Iceland wasn’t easily accessible in April. We’ve assumed, as Rick suggests, that we’ll make it back sometime. If you do likewise, you can see some of your list this trip, and the rest on a later trip(s).

When will this trip be?

We recently did a ten-day Ring Road tour (didn't go to Westfjords), and had two nights in Myvatn, two in Eglissdattir, and two near Skaftafell. All the rest were one night in order to keep moving around the circle and avoid any backtracking.

Yes, when is this trip? That will make a world of difference. We did the ring road in 11 nights this August, staying at a different place every night. We still did not have enough time and felt we just scratched the surface. I would shorten my nights in the Selfoss/Hofn stretch and add more between Myvatn and Laugarbakki. There is WAY too much to see here, especially along the entire peninsula. The drive between Hofn and Sydisfjordur is long. Basically it is just a driving day without being able to really make many stops. I would shorten that up a bit.
