Our flight to Iceland arrives on National Day - Monday, June 17th. Should we expect many businesses to be closed or any problems with travel? I was initially planning to spend our first few nights (of a week-plus trip) in Reykjavik. But, should we go directly to the South Coast instead? Or will more businesses be closed on the South Coast?

I saw this and was curious as well since June 17 is our last day. I asked on another forum what might be happening as well as googled it. The answer from other forum was that there will be celebrations and concerts. Some things might be closed but in city center for tourists stores will be open. I emailed the National Museum and they replied they would be open

All the shops and tourism-related things are open that day. You will just have many celebration (parade, kids friendly events) all around Iceland and especially in Reykjavik. It can be nice to check it out.
