I'm starting to book places to stay outside of Rekyavik and around the Myvahtn area I'm wondering about location. Does it matter whether west, south, east is best. We're driving west to east. Thanks in advance. Sue

Are you asking about lodging west, south, or east of Myvatn? Vogafjos Farm Resort would be my choice around that area.

We stayed at the Fosshotel which is in a very convenient location for touring the area. Let me know if you have any other questions. We spent 10 wonderful days in Iceland (not enough).

We stayed 2 nights at Sel-Hotel Myvatnn on Hwy 848. Good location.
