Flying Iceland Air from USA to Helsinki with a 50 min layover in KEF tomorrow. Being the busiest travel day in the US tomorrow I am nervous about making the connection. Is 50 min sufficient time to get off the plane (sitting front row only have carry on) and get through passport control and Schengen check (not required to have a VISA coming from USA from my research)?
Yes, that is plenty of time:)
The short answer is is usually, yes. There are no promises. I have made the connection through Iceland many times and missed it once.
The one time I missed the connection, they automatically assigned me to the next days flight. I went to the customer service desk where I was given vouchers for a hotel room, bus, and meals. I also was given the link to apply for 600 euros in compensation. They were excellent on providing duty of care.
The KEF staff are incredibly efficient and friendly. I’ve made that connection twice w similar time
