Our flight arrives at 8:55am and I made a 11:00am reservation for the Blue Lagoon. Is it easy to grab a taxi at airport to go to the Blue Lagoon as you need or should I try to reserve something in advance? The buses pick at 8 and 12 and neither works for our schedule. Any other suggestions?

Taxis are plentiful upon walking out of KEF.

We are going this week and I have the same question. The bus schedule won't work for our arrival. Did you end up taking a taxi? If so were there plenty waiting or do you think I should schedule a car service? Also, if you took a taxi how much did you pay? TIA!

I went from KEF to the BL on Sept 17, 2024 and had to take a taxi for the same reason. It was $91 US. But was able to take Flybus from BL to Reyk and that is much cheaper.

Blue Lagoon is closed until Nov. 28 at which time they will reassess.
Apparently, the parking lot is covered in lava. Makes for difficult evacuation, if they open and there was an emergency.
