After 6 months planning a two week ring road trip full of adventures, we arrived in Iceland from Denver on Icelandair to find out the airline did not load any luggage onto the plane. You read this correctly, not that they lost our luggage, no checked bags were loaded onto the plane. We don’t have our hiking books, swim suits, rain gear, etc. So incredibly disappointed. We are in Vik. Does anyone have suggestions on where to shop for good quality gear in this general area?

Did they say why they didn't load your luggage or when you would get it? And are you aware they will probably have to pay for you to replace some of the items in your luggage?

No, they are giving no reason for not loading baggage. It is bizarre. I received a notice today that 3 of 4 bags will be delivered to us sometime today.

How terribly frustrating that must be for you! I hope that the lack of your baggage for the first 24 hours doesn't ruin your entire trip. Iceland is such a wonderful place, and I hope that the missing luggage will just be a blip on the radar when you look back on this trip. Best of luck!!
