We will be taking a Viking cruise of Iceland in July. They offer whale watching expeditions from 3 different ports; Reykjavik, Ĺsafjördur, and Akureyri. Each cruise is about 3 hours.
Whale watching is always a bit hit or miss, but does anyone have an opinion if either of these locations are particularly good?

My husband did one out of Reykjavik and then we both did one out of Akyureyri. The one out of Reykjavik was one was fine, but on a bigger boat. The one we did in Akureyri was with Gentle Giants and it was excellent! We were in a rib boat, so could change direction very quickly to see the whales. The driver was great and made sure that he turned the boat so that both sides could see the whales. We saw so many that day!
