iceland tours

going to be on a viking cruise in June and was wondering if anybody has ideas on what to do Seydisfjordur, and Djupivogur for tours not by Viking as they are so expensive. Any tips would be greatly appreciated Corey

Djupivogur Is extremely small. Seydisfjordur is small too. Yours from both will be extremely limited due to this. You may need to do a private tour or ones from the cruise company just due to time. What time do you actually get off the ship and what time do you need to be back?

With those times, I would absolutely book through the cruise. Regular tours in Iceland don't fit into those windows typically.

Viking has INCLUDED tours at every port that do NOT cost extra.
What does your itinerary say your included tours are?

I'm taking an Iceland viking cruise in August, so for my shore excursion planning I saw:

For example:

In Syedisfjordur, the included 2 hour tour is on a walking tour. The description states: Venture out on foot during a stroll around picturesque Seydisfjordur and enjoy the Viking Festival.

However, I am considering a third party tour: Puffin and Gufufoss waterfall tour

In Djupivogur, the included tour is a 1 ½ tour called Cultural Sights of Djupivogur, described as "Explore the cultural sights of Djupivogur and its local displays of art.
I haven't found a third party tour from this location yet.

Here's a Youtube video showing you what to do in Djupivogur:

Viking does have an optional 6 hour tour to a glacier and lagoon, but even if a third party offered the same tour, the six hours would leave me hesitant to book it as the ship will leave without you if you are late. At least on a Viking sponsored tour, they ship will wait for you.

Good luck and enjoy Iceland.
