Our Icelandic friend alerted us that this is coming into effect next Monday, July 26. Luckily they haven't reinstated quarantine, but visitors will have to show a negative PCR or antigen test upon arrival.

Good to know, thanks for posting the update! I think it reinforces what others have mentioned about checking the airline and country websites for latest information a prior to travel.

I'm glad to hear they are being extra careful. We are traveling next week with a friend who is immune compromised, and we were planning on wearing masks indoors anyway.

That article is not quite right. It says within 72 hours of arrival, but it is actually within 72 hours of the departing flight.
