Iceland- packing light

Hi all!
We are heading to Iceland in June, and plan to drive the Ring Road. We plan to do a fair amount of hiking and other outdoor activities.
We’d like to pack as light as possible. We of course plan to bring clothes for our outdoor activities. Where I’m a little worried, is how dressy do I need to be for eating at restaurants? Can anybody tell me what might be acceptable for a traveler to wear at a decent restaurant? For instance, would it be ok to wear my hiking shoes and a fleece or would I stand out? Thank you!

We were there in 2015 and did not feel uncomfortable or out of place eating dinner in nice - but not fancy - restaurants in hiking shoes and fleece. It's a pretty casual place and very outdoors oriented.

Hiking shoes will be OK, especially in more rural places. Is there a chance that a sweater will be brought as a layer, and might be any dressier than your fleece top, if you want some variety at some restaurants?

We have been 4 times. You fill be perfectly fine in hiking attire. Enjoy! It’s an amazing place! We head back again in July.
