Iceland itinerary in March 2025

I read through a lot of the post, including the gentleman who has been to Iceland seven times and just recently returned so I apologize if I’m asking a question where those answers potentially are in one of the post. We are using Midgard not only as a lodging place, but using their support as a travel agent to book some of our days while in Iceland. We have five days scheduled with activities and we are willing to do 10 days total however we are not interested in doing our own driving for a variety of reasons. My question is even though we’re willing to stay 10 days if it does not make sense logistically we’re OK to make this a seven or eight day trip ultimately, we are flexible.

Land in Reykjavik arrive late will get a room.

Day 1. Golden Circle and then head for overnight bubble tent for the evening

Day 2. South coast tour with glacier walk.

Day 3 jeep tour and cave dinner

Day 4 Silica / Blue Lagoon

Day 5. We will be back on our own in Reykjavik and will spend this day doing food tour and city tour.

I feel like day 6 we could use a tour guide to go to the snaefellas peninsula.

Now what? Do we change locations? Move on to Husavik/Gobafoss? How to get there? Buses? Driver? Again do not want to drive. Would we be better off to stay South and add a couple days to this area and then come back again like most people seem to do.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Steve, that would be me, except I am a lady:)

Since your first 5 days are set, I agree a trip to Snaefellsness would be really nice. I would do a 2 day tour there to maximize what you would get to see. www.troll.is does those tours. I know others do as well, but Troll is a company we have used a handful of times and they are very good.

Husavik is too involved, IMO, for your time frame. It is harder to get to without renting a car, and that time of year the roads can be iffy as that is still winter. You could fly to Akureyri from Reykjavik when you get back from Snaefellsness though. You would still need to get to Husavik which is only an hour away from Akureyri, but you would still need to figure out transportation.
