We are going to Iceland, leaving December 27, arriving on the 28th, and leaving on the 3rd. My question is with my itinerary it's making it very difficult to travel around and then come back to Reykjavík for NYE. Should we skip the NYE celebration in Reykjavík or skip seeing some of the other things to make it back to be apart of the celebration and see all the fireworks?

We have been many times, but not over NYE yet. Out adult kids have though and said it was great. If this were my trip, I would stay in Reykjavik your first night, then do a 2 day/1night south coast tour. That would get you back to Reykjavik late on the 30th. Stay there for 2 night and enjoy NYE. Then on the 1st, do a 2 day/1 night tour up on Snaefellsness. You would be back late in the 2nd and then fly home the next day.
