Iceland in 8 days

We are headed there in May 2025 and will have a car.

Any suggestions for a older couple w a few surgically enhanced legs (knee and hip) for an 8 day adventure.

Eight days is just enough time to drive Iceland’s “Ring Road.”

With just 8 days I would stick to Snaefellsness and the south coast. I would not try to do the ring road in that amount of time. We did that on one trip there and had 12 days and it was still quite rushed, to give you an idea. Yes you can drive it, but you won't have time to get out and do things.

You want suggestions, but what are your interests? Kayaking, glacier hikes, hot springs, etc?

My most recent trip there was in September and we had 8 full days. I have been many times so know it well, which was great because I knew what was to be highlights for us and what to skip. A friend went with me and she had never been before. We did Snaefellsness a the south coast and were up early in the morning and to bed late each night. I have two new knees from this year, FWIW. The knees were never an issue, sos hopefully you are in the same boat:)

Yes we don't want to be locked in the car running from next stop to next.

I have a new knee and hip so I walk well, incline sucks for me

Agree with kenko that 8 days is enough to drive the Ring Road, but it definitely is not enough time to be able to stop and savor all the wonderful things to do along the way.

I also agree with MikLiz about sticking to Snæfellsnes Peninsula and the South Coast as far as Höfn and also Golden Circle. Plenty to see and do.
