Just came across a social media post advising that today and tomorrow (9/9 and 9/10) they expect pretty extreme weather in parts of Iceland (wind, snow, treacherous driving). There is a website dedicated to these topics, definitely a good idea to check before any trip to Iceland no matter the time of year. Yes, basically summer bypassed Iceland this year. My husband was stuck in Grundarfjordur due to weather last month. The alerts have been numerous. I head over there again next week. I always check several websites for road and weather conditions multiple times each day while we are driving, no matter the time of year.
