Vaccinated Tourists Not to Be Tested in Iceland as of Mid-June
Great news, thanks for posting. Now just need to get the US to drop the mandatory return covid test and we are good to go.
That is fantastic since we have a short tour booked for end of November.
I was getting concerned about the testing upon arrival in case it took 24 hours for results.
I saw a fair number of weasel words in that story ... such as "the plan is ..." etc.
Not a guarantee
Drat - I'm flying there Saturday, arriving Sunday morning. I wish the article mentioned a date! The 13th is almost "mid-June"???
The official rules are at covid.is. The site states that current rules will be in place until June 15th.
It looks like July 1, 2021 is the date. Too late to help my June 23 arrival. Bummer.

Hip Hip Hooray!
That is good news. Having an extra day to see Iceland without quarantine will be great.
I faked myself out for a minute because our flights are June 30th. I was so aggravated until I remembered that we land July 1!
I am so happy that most Icelandingars will be vaccinated and that Iceland handled the pandemic so well.
I am still waiting for the official statement on covid.is
