How long should we allow from KEF to Blue Lagoon?

Hey pals, we are landing at KEF at 10:00 from Chicago via Iceland Air on May 27 and will be picking up our rental car from the airport (there’s a shuttle to the airport Economy car rental office), then want to go directly to the Blue lagoon.

I’m reading we need a reservation at the lagoon- any idea how much time we should allow to land, get the car, and drive there? I’m thinking 2 hours but would love to crowdsource your thoughts. I don’t want to miss it but i also don’t want to sit around for an hour if we are early.

Alternatively, if we were early for our reservation do you think we can get in early? We are planning to select the middle-priced ticket.

2 hours may be too much. We landed at 9 am and walked right out within 30-40 mins. But airport could be busy at a later time. Our car rental picked up the drivers while rest of us waited at airport. They had cars ready and came back for us in 15 mins. Blue lagoon is about 15-20 mins away. Hope this is helpful. Have fun.

My group went to the Blue Lagoon before leaving which was ideal! That way you can have a leisurely visit which is perfect preparation for a long flight. As the other post states, the airport is close. But with the added factor or picking up a rental car, why risk it. I'd go with a 2 hour window. My flight from Washington DC was 45 minutes late and then my bag tumbled off the luggage belt and was stuck in an inaccessible place. There are NO attendants or any airport personnel anywhere near the luggage collection. I had to get help from crew from my flight who informed the airline who then sent someone. I was over an hour late from the time I expected to meet up with my group.
