Horse Riding Recommendations near Reykjavik.

Will be in Rekyavik end of March with my adult daughter and we really, really want to ride those beautiful horses. There seem to be quite a few places, so looking for your personal recommendations. Pick up at our guesthouse would be nice, but will probably have to take the bus to the city center. We are staying on that little peninsula where the lighthouse is, at Blue House BnB.

Best suggestions?
Thanks.

Ishestar Horse Riding Tour. Just outside Reykjavik. They pick up, but I think just from the regular bus stops. We got picked up by the big church ( bus stop #8 ). We didn’t ride. My wife just wanted to interact with the horses. About 10 went on the ride.

I went to Fákasel to see the show, then afterwards, they allow you to walk around the stables to meet the "stars" of the performance (including the friendly dog, who kind of steals the spotlight). You can also arrange a ride, and the facility has a nice homey restaurant.

Like most of the activities outside of Reykjavik bookable through the tour bus system, they will pick you up from at or very close to your lodgings. Fewer people signed up for the show the night I visited, so they picked us up in a van, and afterwards, the driver took us on an EXTREMELY scenic back-road trip on the return to Reykjavik. I don't think a bus could have driven on some of the roads where she took us.

I did I tour with Solhestar which I strongly recommend. It was so much fun. The horses were like riding a cloud - they were a dream to ride yet really easy. Solhester picked us up from our hotel in Reykjavik.

Here's the website of the tour company we went with: https://www.solhestar.is/

My daughters found a website with a nice little review and pictures which I found very helpful before we booked. I'll try to find it for you. Edit: Found the one I was telling you abut https://coupletraveltheworld.com/icelandic-horse/

Enjoy your trip
