Herjólfur ferry from Landeyjahöfn to Vestmannaeyjar - Website Idiosyncracy

Hi,

I'm am trying to reserve 4 people and a car on the June 17th ferry. Once I enter all the passenger names and dates, it reflects the travel date as June 16th, not June 17th. I've tried it three times thinking I made various errors.

Is there a known idiosyncracy when attempting to reserve the ferry from Landeyjahöfn to Vestmannaeyjar that a different day will select if the selected day is already fully booked (i.e. no space left)?

I believe the 17th is a holiday, so not sure if it's not running that day (an announcement would be nice!) or if the 17th is already booked (an error message would be nice!!).

I thought I was reserving far enough in advance, but may not be!

For future reference, it is the website - I reached out out to Herjólfur and they confirmed they were having troubles with the website. There is availability for the 17th, you just can't select it! They asked for the information and will book for me.

I had a similar situation with them last year and they did. the same thing for us. The issue with our timing was the music festival, but the lady at the ferry company was so helpful!

melT--LOL! Glad it worked out for you. You will love this area! A friend recently asked me to take her to Iceland, so I head back in September. My 7th trip, but definitely not my last!

A similar thing happened to me when I booked our car on the ferry for July. Despite the date I entered in the first field, it would always come up with a different date (in my case, a day earlier) than I put in the search field. I was able to just click the arrow over to set the date correctly for each column (to and from) and it seemed to work for me - for what it's worth!

It is doing the same thing to me. I've tried several times. I've also tried to change the dates right before I select times, and the site them changes the dates to the days after I want to travel. This is really frustrating since they say the summer sells out, so I am trying to book early.

I checked my ferry tickets for July as they just announced they were adding some more trips during the summer and my dates WERE wrong! It didn't work after all, or got buggered in the process of booking, I'm not sure. I used the email address below to inquire about the discrepancy and they responded very quickly - within an hour or so! I contacted them during their business hours and was pleased with the customer service and the prompt fix.
