Help with itinerary for family of 5 (3 kids ages 9-13)

Hello, does anyone have any recommendations for first time going to Iceland with family, 2 adults and 3 kids ages 9-13? We have 13 days to spend in Iceland, day 13 flying out. Planning on doing road trip to see major sights in Iceland. Here is our preliminary itinerary: any suggestions and changes? We want to see the most things we can, any recommendations for specific places and things to see and not to miss, places and things to eat at the locations listed below. Please advise, I'm still working on it. Our girls was expert swimmers, love biking and hiking and exploring nature. On their top list is to see volcanoes, lava (lol), greysers, craters, hop springs, geothermal pools, biking around iceland and just about anything that is unique and beautiful. We have most of our places to stay booked, all cancel able, looking to refine it. Please advise. Thank you in advance for your time and help!!

Day 1: Reykjavik - staying in central Reykjavic (maybe blue lagoon, geothermal pools, viking museum?)

  1. The Golden Circle - staying in same hotel as day 1 - central Reykjavic - should we change and stay at Selfloss instead?

  2. Reykjavik to Vik

  3. Vik to Hofn

  4. Hofn to the East Fjords - want to do Detifloss and Seyoisfjordur while driving from Hofn to East Fjords - staying in Seyoisfjordur is this doable - don't want it to get stuck driving all day. Should we stay somewhere in Detifloss instead?

Day 6 and 7 : East Fjords to Lake Myvatan - staying around Lake Myvatan. Do you think one whole day on day 7 at Myvatan is needed?

8: Akureyri and Siglufjorour - Staying at Akureyri - should we stay in siglufjorour instead based on drive distance?

Day 9 and 10: Siglufjorour to Stykissholmur - staying in Hvammstangi

11: Snaefellsness Penisula

12: Ice Cave at Langjokull Glacier and return to Reykjavik (ice cave tour)

Day 13 Blue Lagoon and home (leave to airport) - maybe not - too wet any suggestions for last day will probably have a few hours before our flight out.

When are you going on your trip? We have a nine year old and we are going from June 28th-July 5th. We are staying two nights in Reykjavik. Two days in a sheep farm/hotel on the Golden Circle and two days near airport. In Reykjavik we are going to do a food tour because a family we know raved about it and all their kids loved it.

You don't need to "bring" any money. Iceland has very high credit card usage. Yes, it is expensive, but there are ways to cut costs if you need to (like using alternatives to the Blue Lagoon - there are many geothermal pools throughout Iceland you can look into)

Hi Peggy can you tell me the name of the sheep farm you are staying at in the Golden Circle? How can I try to book? I'm sure it's all booked up but would like to know. Thanks in advance!
