Has anyone visited and hiked around Hallormsstaður Forest (in May)? How much time should we allocate to this? I can't find a lot of recent info about this forest.
Here's our tentative schedule on our 6th day driving the Ring Road:
Stop on the way as time allows: Viking Village Prop for Movies (I know this may be cheesy but the kids want to go) and walk around Stoksnes (plus lighthouse), Fauskasandur black sand beach, Nykurhylsfoss (optional), fishing town of Djúpivogur (optional), hike around Hallormsstadhur forest (not sure if there will be time for this), dinner at Askur Pizzeria, Voks Bath (optional), sleep at Vinland Guesthouse in Egilsstaðir
Which of the above are reasonable to do and still have time for Hallormsstaður Forest, dinner and Voks Bath? Or will the forest take up most of the day? We are a family of four, including two adult kids (19 & 22), on a 12 day trip this month. Thanks for your help!
