Golden Circle Tours & Blue Lagoon

Hello Fellow Travelers,

My traveling partner and I will have a couple days in Iceland without a car and would like to see the Golden Circle. Any tour groups or company recommendations? Also, we fly in very early the previous day and plan to go to the Blue Lagoon directly from the airport and then after a few hours head to Reykjavik. Any suggestions for transportation to Blue Lagoon from airport and then from Blue Lagoon to hotel in Reykjavik? Thanks to all!

I always use Reykjavik Excursions when I want to book a tour in Iceland. I've always had great experiences with them, never any issues. If I've ever had to change anything, I just ask the concierge at the hotel, and they work it out. For the Golden Circle tour, make sure to pick the one that makes a stop at Fridheimer greenhouse! A van will pick you up at the bus stop closest to your hotel with a transfer at the BSI terminal to a larger bus.

Reykjavik Excursions is the largest tour operator in Iceland. I believe they offer just bout everything you need. They operate the Flybus that goes between Reykjavik and the airpor as well. You could look for a package deal.

I agree with the previous posters. RE is a great tour company and we did the Golden Circle with them on our first trip there. Definitely make sure you get a tour with the tomato place as mentioned! If you can find one that has that and the Secret Lagoon, do that. It would be a long day with all of the usual GC stops, but these two places are very much worth the extra time! The Flybus works well from the airport to BL and then on into Reykjavik.

I used Iceland Horizon and found them to be reliable and competent. They stayed in touch and let me know at all times what was going on. Our tour operator was wonderful - funny and knowledgeable and went above and beyond the call of duty. I would not hesitate to use them again.
