Are you aware of a good self-guided driving tours of the Golden Circle and South Shore?
I’ve already purchased Rick’s Iceland book and have his recommended driving route, but we’re interested in a narrated driving tour similar to Shaka Maui. Has anyone used Action Tour Guide?

Not aware of an such animal in Iceland (that's not to say that it doesn't exist..) but I have found that driving in Iceland is fairly easy, because there isn't an abundance of roads or confusing intersections. The rental car companies have an option for a wifi Hotspot, so we used that last winter and just followed Google maps for the Golden Circle. I found driving in September around the Ring Road to be extremely easy, and really didn't need much driving assist at all. (The caveat to all of this is that I live in Upstate NY, so winter driving rarely phases me anymore. I'm sure someone will comment on my saying the drive is fairly easy).
My point is, if you don't find a guided self tour, don't fret too much if you can read a map and have a decent sense of direction.
