We have an early flight out on Thursday, so we're staying at the Marriott near the airport. We won't be turning our rental car in until we leave, so we will be able to get around a bit. Does anyone have a recommendation for dinner near the airport? I suppose we could eat in Reykjavik on our way back from the south coast but it's still a long drive to the hotel after that. Thoughts?

I stayed at the Aurora Hotel ( I think that's where the rental car parking lot is, too? ) right at the airport- you just walk across that parking lot to the entrance. The hotel had a small dining room. I didn't eat there, and you should check if it's open for non- guests to be sure.

About 15 minutes from the airport is Rostin Restaurant, which is in Gardur by the old lighthouse there. We had lunch there last summer and it was very good!

Keflavik town is only five kilometers from the airport. We ate at The Library Bistro and Bar and enjoyed it. I also got an amazing hot dog from Pulsuvagninn, a hot dog stand at 2C2V+X7Q, Tjarnargata, 230 Keflavík. You can find it on Google maps.

I second the Library Bistro. We stayed over for one night at the end of a trip last summer and we ate there twice, some of the best fish I have ever had in my life.
