Culture House and National Museum shared ticket

I know that the ticket to the Culture House in Reykjavik also allows admission to the National Museum and vice versa, but it is unclear if they can be visited on different days or even weeks on this same ticket. Does anyone know the answer?

My information might be outdated, but in 2018 I visited them on different days. When I bought my ticket at the first one, they gave me a paper ticket for the second that I redeemed when I went there.
