Comparing group tours of Iceland for first time visit

I am looking into a first time visit to Iceland. I will be traveling solo and do not wish to drive. I am considering the Nice company 10-day grand tour of Iceland vs an 11-day smaller group tour. In comparing the two itineraries, does the Nice tour seem too busy for 10 days?

Nice tour starts and ends in Reykjavik and visits Golden Circle, South Coast, Eastfjords, North, Westfjords, Troll Peninsula, Silver Circle, Snaefellsnes Peninsula.
The smaller group tour starts and ends in Reykjavik it is 11 days and visits the South Coast, Westman Islands, Eastfjords, Northern Iceland, the Troll Peninsula.

Nice is a well regarded company. Who is the other one you are looking at? I can highly recommend Troll as we have used them for a number of excursions and they are excellent, FWIW.

As for deciding on which tour, it would help if you would link both of them. I do hesitate though about Nice as the Westfjords deserve more time that what I think they will do. I am guessing they will go up to Dynjandi and that's about it. So if you post links I can make more useful comments:)

I would opt for a smaller group regardless of who you go with.

Carol I like the tour from Nice the best. Plus they are a local company. It is a fast paced tour but at least they are actually seeing the Westfjords vs just driving through it like some.

Thank you for your input. I do like the inclusion of the Westfjords and Snaefellsnes Peninsula just unsure if seemingly covering the entire country was over ambitious.

It its ambitious, but I read the itinerary day by day and it should be fine. Those two areas are my favorites, so I am a bit biased in my views:). Plus Nice is so well regarded that I would put my faith in them and they have done this trip so many times they know what they are doing.

I appreciate the feedback as other than no horseback ride the itinerary looks like it hits the spots I am interested in. I would just add on a horseback ride out of Reykjavik prior to the tour.

That’s easy. Eldhestar is in Selfoss and they will pick up in Reykjavik. We have ridden with them and they are excellent!
