I went to the Iceland Road Authority website and as of today, August 9, highway 35 near Sefloss is closed. We had planned to continue onto the Ring Rd /highway 1 at Sefloss and spend the night near Hella. Will this be possible? Is there another way to reach Hella after stopping at Geysir is gighway 35 is closed?

You could take 35 to 30 to 1 or 35 to 31 to 30 to 1. You would bypass Sefloss.

Thank you. We took 35 to 30 to 31 and reached the ring road with no problem. The road where 35 and 36 join was to be closed again today for surface paving

FYI--I just looked at Google Maps and saw the alternate route. Anyone can do it. :)
