Has anyone stayed at either of these hotels?
Center Hotels Plaza seems to be better located but has more mixed reviews. Storm Hotel has better reviews and the location still looks pretty centrally located as far as I can tell, but I'm curious what people thought if they stayed at either.
The Storm Hotel is quite a ways from the main part of the city center. We have stayed at both the Center Hotel Laugarvatn and Center Hotel Midgardur which are closer than Storm Hotel, and even with those they were sort of on the far end, FWIW. Center Hotel Plaza is in an ideal location, IME/IMO. I have not stayed at either of these, but our stays at the other two Center Hotels were excellent and I would absolutely stay with them again, FWIW.
I have stayed at the Center Hotel Plaza, as well as the Center Hotel Laugavegur. I'm very happy with that hotel chain, though I would say that the Plaza is possibly one of the older hotels in the chain; very clean but bathrooms not as modern as some of the other hotels. Location is perfect though, and all of the public spaces were outstanding.
I have no point of reference for Storm Hotel, but I don't think you'd be unhappy at all at the Center Hotel Plaza, especially as Mikliz97 says the location is the better of the two.
