Breakfast Options near Reykjavik or suburb, Hafnarfjordur

I'm trying to decide if we should stay in a hotel or an AirBnB. It comes down to a question about breakfast options. It seems like we should plan to cook our own breakfast--coffee, eggs with a carb and my fruit--in an AirBnB OR eat breakfast and stay at a hotel. Most breakfast places are just coffee and pastries and NO eggs. Do you know of a breakfast place that services protein like eggs for breakfast? Thanks in advance for your insight!

There are plenty of hotels and restaurants that offer more than pastry and coffee for breakfast. I stayed at Center Hotels Plaza and they had a hearty breakfast buffet that included eggs, bacon, sausage, cheeses, cold cuts, fruit. etc. I suspect all the Center Hotels have similar offerings. I also ate an American style breakfast at the Laundromat Cafe, plenty of protein offerings there: https://www.thelaundromatcafe.is/panta

We have always had good breakfasts at the hotels we have stayed at in Reykjavik. The Center Hotels have plenty of protein items including eggs, skyr, and meats. Hotel Fron also has a nice spread. We have never come across a breakfast in Iceland that was just coffee and pastries, FWIW.

If you want a separate restaurant, Baka Baka is very good and they have eggs etc. My husband enjoyed the Laundromat Cafe as well.
