Breakfast Near Keflavik Airport?

Does anyone have a recomendation for a breakfast restaurant near the airport? Our flight arrives at 0630 after flying all night, and I'm sure that we will be hungry after clearing customs and getting our car.

The problem is that you're getting in too early for any restaurants to be open at that time, except at the airport. I would either bring a snack or eat at the airport. Google maps shows some restaurants in Reykjanesbær (not far away from the airport on the coast) but I doubt any will be open that early. Maybe you can check out their hours to confirm (just click "nearby" and type "restaurants" after locating Keflavnik Airport on Google Maps and you'll see their names and locations).

The Viking World Museum (very near the airport) has a breakfast buffet that starts at 7 am. It is clearly set up to bring in people who might not visit the museum otherwise. We were there for the museum and did not have the buffet, but it looked at least as good as the buffet at our hotel. Admission to the museum is included and that's not a bad way to start your visit to Iceland.

I just looked into this for my trip in August. We are arriving later (8:30) but it looks like there are some good options in Reykjanesbaer. I found Sigurjonsbakari (Holmgardi 2) which looks promising. We plan on getting breakfast there and then driving to Hvolsvollur where we will be for 3 nights. The Viking Museum was my original choice but it is pricey, but if you're planning on visiting the museum then that might be a better choice.

And if you already took your trip I would love to know what you ended up doing for breakfast?
