Blue Lagoon vs Sky Lagoon?

Which do you like and why? Thanks for any info!

I’ve only been to the Blue Lagoon and I stopped there in the morning before my flight back to the U.S. I thoroughly enjoyed my soak there, but the main reason I chose it was the convenience to the airport.

We have been to both of them twice. I prefer Sky, as the 7 step ritual is just so incredibly relaxing. If you can go around sunset, it is stunning. For Blue, both times we did it first thing in the morning when they opened. Once, right before flying home, and the other time upon arrival. I much prefer doing it before flying home as it was nice to really relax before getting on the plane. Doing it upon arrival meant that we were very relaxed on our first day, almost too much and we were tempted to take a nap which we never do. So it just depends on what you are looking for.

We are going to Iceland this summer and we have reservations at the Blue Lagoon when we arrive and the Sky Lagoon for the evening before we leave!

I am looking forward to going to Sky Lagoon. Blue Lagoon looks fun but its also very crowded during the day and we are going during the high season.

Donna--That is a pretty good article, thank you for posting it. I will say though don't worry about your hair too much. I have color treated hair and on one trip I slipped and went completely underwater. I had slathered it in conditioner and it was in a bun, but got soaked. My hair was still fine when we came out a few hours later. Oh, and on that same trip I somehow could not find my swimsuit in my daypack so had to rent a suit. I was surprised but it fit very well and was very comfy. Of course as I was back in the changing room afterward, I found my suit. A bit too late, but it got lots of use elsewhere.

Mikluz97 - glad you liked the article and thanks for the first hand info. I was a bit worried about my hair! Fortunately, the Blue Lagoon is near the end of our trip.

Donna--Enjoy your trip! I know many people fret about their hair, but I haven't had an issue at all. I hope you have time to hit some of the other lagoons/pools. There are all so different. I sure wish we had those here!
