Best side of excursion bus

I will be going on a bus excursion from Reykjavik to Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon from 7AM-9PM in July and like to take pictures out of the bus windows during the drive. Which would be the best side sit given the sun direction and travel from northwest to southeast to get there and the reverse on the return. I am assuming going there will have land on the left and sea on the right with the reverse on the return. Is this correct? I would like pictures of both the land and the sea.

Yes, going from Reykjavik to Jökulsárlón the land will be on the left and the sea on the right. I have no idea where the sun will be, but I do know that on the land side you will see tons of waterfalls and glaciers.

That's a really really long day. Is there any way that you could break that into two days and stay overnight?

Thank you for the reply. Unfortunately, I cannot break the trip into 2 days as I board a cruise the following day, but it would make sense if this were not the case. The good news is that I will have a "sea day" to recuperate.

Does anyone know if the summer sun in Iceland is ever straight overhead or always at an angle? Heading east in the morning makes me think we will be driving into the sun.
