best areas to stay in Reykavik

In July of 2017, we stayed at the Freyja Guesthouse, located very near the giant steeple church Hallgrímskirkja, Free parking was included as was breakfast and use of bicycles. Nice area. I would stay there, again. Here's a link....

We stayed at the Eyja Guldsmeden Hotel which is just a few blocks NE of the main part of town. It had a nice sized lot right at the back of the hotel that was free. Lots of street parking there too.

I have stayed at the Canopy by Hilton twice. Great location. Center of everything. Tour bus stop is about 100 feet from the hotel. Parking deck next door but I don't think it's free. Excellent hotel, great breakfast, not cheap.
