Any suggestions for alternatives to Blue Lagoon on the south coast?

Our family of four would be paying several hundred dollars for a visit to Blue Lagoon. So, in the area that's south and east of the airport all the way over to Vik, does anyone have a favorite pool that has some type of a hot spring experience? I read about Reykjadalur but would really like a place that's more of a civic pool, I think Secret Lagoon will be too far out of the way. We will have a rental car and are in Iceland for 22 hours.

Get the app "Hot Spring Iceland". It maps out all of the hot springs, gives you driving directions, and shows you pictures. There are quite a few around there. Most towns in Iceland have a civic pool and are relatively inexpensive.
