Hello! Any recommendations for interesting accommodation near Mývatn Nature Baths? Or, thoughts on staying in Akureyri versus staying somewhere smaller/more rural? We're debating the country/city plans and are only planning to do one night in the North.

We stayed at the Hotel Gigur in the Myvatn area. IMHO one day in the north is not enough for seeing all that is in that area. If you go in the summer months, bring a head net as the midges are absolutely miserable. They don’t bite but swarm your face. You can buy a head net for a few bucks in the US before leaving and it will be cheaper than buying one there.
