Researching a wine lover's river boat cruise with Avalon that would take place Oct 30 - Nov 6. It would take us from Budapest - Slovakia - Austria and end in Germany (basically the Danube). What can be expected of the weather at that time? I am curious about temperatures and amounts of rainfall that could impact the trip. Also since it would be off-season, would there still be plenty of things open to experience when off the boat?

For the weather, the further north you go, the colder and I belive the wetter it gets. As the start, Budapest, the end of October is cool, but by my definition not yet cold. Its not the wettest nor it the driest month of the year. Neither is November.
