Debrecen International Airport already has flightst to London, Larnaca and Eindhoven and Munich. Think of this as the gateway airport into Romania.

This is nice. American had this as a seasonal pre-pandemic, also PHL -Prague. Did not have the chance to book this in the past. As Philly is my home, I would have loved to had this as an option instead of flying through Frankfurt on Lufthansa when we linked these cities last year. And a nice plus - the 3 PM arrival here puts it ahead of the 3:30 and on arrival of most of the international flights, immigration all manned and few other arriving passengers. Now if only American would switch those 787’s to 2-4-2 seating like Lufthansa’s Airbuses.

Yes, all my options on AA for 2026 to Budapest try to route me through PHL and then to BP. That is going to mean a change of process for arrival - no more just walking off the plane and out the door. Same with departure direct to the U.S. I am not sure I have ever flown Budapest direct to non-Schengen, although I know you can.
