Trouble Making a Reservation in Budapest

In 2020 we were looking forward to a week in Budapest, which of course was cancelled. We will finally make it there next year and I’m trying to book the same apartment this year, called Paty’s Place. I have been trying to make the reservation for the last 2 days at http://budapestapartmentservice.com/apartments/patys-place/ and it doesn’t go through. Has anyone else had trouble with this website or have a better idea how to make the reservation?

Just out of curiosity when are you trying to book it for?

Next September. The calendar on the website covers my dates, but I guess it’s possible that it’s too early.

Looking at the calendar it looks like maybe you can only book up to April 20, 2024. After that the calender dates are all highlited in a different color. So, you're probably right that it's too early to book that far ahead.

Andrea, I checked for you and that particular flat is off the market for the foreseeable future. Love the location (very near where I live).

In the past few years I have checked out dozens of flats for RS tourists. This might be a good thread for everyone to chime in with their favorite.

You have plenty of time. For some reason the flat generally only book about 2 months in advance.

Cute. TTM, do you remember the address? Thats what I dont like about AirBnb, you dont know where they are until you book. But this one is obviously in VI which is great. Also, didn't see a registration number in the listing. If its not registered its illegal.

This one has a registration number. Again, do you remember the address. What floor was it on? Elevator?

I know where this one is. Again, no registration number. Love the paint colors. Can you stand up in the bed loft? Faces the courtyard?

What i dont like about this listing is that i misrepresents how close it is to everything. I mean its a great location but this is pure fantasy:

"Popular points of interest near the apartment include Blaha Lujza
Square, Hungarian Parliament Building and Hungarian National Museum.

Yes, there’s a registration number - it’s down under “show more”. I can’t remember exactly where it is (and don’t still have the exact address - I agree about this flaw), but I think I remember it is on or very close to Bajcsy-Zsilinszky út near the Arany János utca M3 station. Up 2 floors and no elevator.

This one is Ó u. 24-26B. I probably still have info but it will take a while. I vaguely remember an elevator but not 100% sure. They communicated swiftly and well.

Lol! Yes, not my favorite. I probably would have ended up on the couch. Worst is the bed upstairs and bathroom downstairs. 🤣 BUT it does have a registration number- they are really hard to find on booking.com. It’s under Important Information. I think I looked at this one because of time of year and it was cheap.

I have also looked at Nova City Apartments. Location wasn’t as good for what I wanted to do, but they looked good enough inside. I am pretty cheap so I look through a lot of cute available places to balance price, space, and location.

Nova City is the one that is sold in the pricey 6 day packages. No thanks.

Ó utca 24 is above a Cuban bar that gets really loud at night (sorry, I will try and be quieter), but there is an excellent Thai massage directly across the street.

Wow, thanks Mister E and TTM for your help. I am very disappointed that Paty’s Place is no longer available. Too bad, because Mardee could have come over for wine. 😉

I checked out TTM’s first 2 options. The first one looks fine. Thanks for mentioning it is up 2 flights of stairs. That’s my limit these days. The second one also looked okay, but the calendar doesn’t go out far enough to check the price, or else it’s entirely booked up for a long period of time. I didn’t bother with the third one because it didn’t sound like what I would be looking for.

I welcome any and all recommendations that anyone has. I’m looking for something with a washer and free cancellation. Thanks!!

The problem with Airbnb’s not showing an actual address can often be solved with a message to the host. I have done it on occasion and they always tell me.

The same guy that lists Patys Place also lists one called Apt Maher. Very, very good location and I know the management company to be honest (but I've never actually been in it, does sound large enough). All their places are nice, and well located. But as you find listings you like, send them my way and I will tell you if I know them or the area they are in.

Thanks Mister E. The Mahler apartment looks nice, but is larger than we need. Thanks for your help and offers of assistance.
