Trip report

After disembarking at 8:30a, we took a scenic walk from the Balna area through the Inner City (Parisi Udvar, Turkish Bank House, Szervita Square Building) and to Hotel Moments on Andrassy Avenue. Luckily, our room was available, so we dropped off the luggage and used Bolt to drive us to the Aquincum Museum and Archaeological Park, which we enjoyed for quick couple of hours before taking another Bolt to the City Park. The ride app worked just as seamlessly as Uber or Lyft. We walked around the Museum of Ethnography and the House of Music before ducking into the M1 from the Baths to the Oktogon stop. The BudapestGo app was pretty easy to use for tickets. We ate a late lunch on the terrace at Cork Breakfast & Wine, which was quite tasty, and had a great line-of-sight view of the Basilica. In the evening, we walked to the promenade, caught the picturesque sunset blue hour, then had an 8pm seating on the terrace at Dunacorso for tapas and more Hungarian wine (esp. Tokaji Aszu 5 P). Andrassy Avenue was fun to walk and for people-watching. We had a great stay at Hotel Moments and the breakfast was very good and extensive. Afterwards, it was an easy to walk to the 100E bus to the airport.
Thanks to all who provided advice and recommendations. We had a limited amount of time post-cruise to see Budapest, yet we loved every second of it.

Sounds like you got quite a bit into your two days! I have not yet used Bolt there, but given what you wanted to see and your short time, it was probably a good use of resources. I’m glad you had a good time!
