We have a 2day extension in Budapest before starting the Danube cruise. Checking for sites to seein Budapest. (Must sees)
Any recommendations for tour guides? Should I check into booking.com?
Thank you
I imagine your cruise includes some sightseeing in Budapest before departing that city; we don't know what that sightseeing will cover. You can find Rick's top sightseeing suggestions here:

Acraven is correct, but it goes further than she went.
1. What tours does the ship offer. Post the outline. I am sure there is one. From what I have noticed with the Viking passengers it looks to be sort of an overview.
2. What are your dates. Time of year matters as do exact dates. The is a thread here with what is going on in town on various dates. Something interesting might overlap your stay. With the dates the days of the week can be seen and that’s important as some things are closed on some days of the week.
3. Which hotel? If its in Pest your day will start and end in one location, if its in Buda it’s a totally different plan for the day.
4. If you are over 65 public transportation is free. Otherwise, you will need a travel card. Which one depends on when you come and when you go.
5. Any interests or anything bore you?
You asked about a guide. That’s the one thing I am not going to be very helpful with. This one comes well recommended but I have never used her: https://lovefromhungary.com/ Do you need one? Depends on that cruise tour and what they show you, if anything.
We are staying on the pest side. We have booked some tors of opera house and st Stephen’s basilica, and the castle district. Just wondering if there are must sees that we don’t want to miss. Thank you
Enjoy your visit!!
I think the House of Terror is really important if you have an interest in 20th-century history. It sounds junky, but it is a serious museum. It gets school groups, so it might be crowded.
One of the greatest joys of visiting Budapest is the architecture. You can have a great time just marveling at the buildings.
