Thank you for your support

While some might be a bit miffed over the mishap, I am appreciatiive as I learned two things that I would have never known. The (now deleted) where is Mr. E post and the number of emails and WhatsApp messages was humbling. Truly humbling. I also discovered what I really thought about the RS Forum managment. As those of you who contacted me know, I trusted enough to stay quiet and wait. We have good moderators, easy to say until you are tested, but then proven.

Thank you moderators and thank you forum.

James, I'm glad you've returned to the land of the forum. I may not always agree with you, but would never dispute the value of your posts and threads. :-) I'm happy the mishap was fixed!

Mardee, I am never too old to learn and I would never learn a thing if the only people I knew were the ones I agree with. I think to some degree I value those that disagree with me more than the ones who do agee with me. Thank you for the kind words.

So glad you're back! The funny thing is, I am the one who posted the original post, and now it is gone and I did not delete it!

I guess something is up. I don't know if that means all of my posts are now gone as well.

Either way, I'm glad you are still with us :p)

Don’t know anything about the mishap, don’t want to know, But, I too am happy you did not disappear. Too many good posters have left the forum so we need the good ones we have to stay.

Welcome back! I for one am glad to have a person that shares their knowledge and insight about Budapest and Hungary. Now to see if my messages are there.

I was shocked. SHOCKED, I tell you!, when my wife cried out that you were gone! So glad you are back among all your friends here.

We have all seen the complaint threads about how rude the forum has gotten. Quite a few of the good words above are from people that rarely agree with me. That speaks well for our little society. A very good bunch to be associated with.

Now how did people figure out I am an Aggie?

I outed you! I understand why you would want to keep that information under wraps - or caps

Did you sign an NDA, or can you tell us 'what happened'?

One of my posts was apparently flagged as spam because it contained a strange name, phone number, and email address. It was the baggage handling company in Budapest Airport.

Now how did people figure out I am an Aggie?

It was that cap you wear around town. Dead giveaway :P

edit: Estimated Prophet already made the same joke! (except it was cleverer than mine) I am slow off the mark tonight lol

Gerry M - Nonsense! The only problem with Aggie jokes is which one!

Notre Dame must be really bad this year...

In light of today’s game, this ND alum says “ouch”

Mr. E, glad to see you are back! It is always good to read/hear diverse opinions that are thoughtfully presented. I have learned a lot from this forum, travel and otherwise.

Mr E, glad you are back with us. It was so jarring to have you erased. I’m also glad to hear the end of the lost baggage tale too!!

Welcome back! As someone just said, it was jarring to find you missing. It raised a number of existential questions about our true value in the universe and the meaning of life.

Well, maybe not that far...

... how many Aggies does it take to ....

For those that dont understand the culture. These folks arent putting me down. Aggie jokes are not seen as insults. Most were written by Aggies. Learing to laugh at oneself is part of the education.

One of the answers is 3. Two to turn the ladder and one to hold the lightbulb.

I missed the abduction but glad you’re still here.

It gives me joy to see people all over the world, who wouldn’t recognize each other on the street, show care and concern for one another (especially on a forum).
Well… there is valuable travel information too but I’m sure that was only a small part of the “Search for Mr. E”’ (sound a bit like a Nancy Drew novel- now I’m dating myself).
Welcome back.

Isn't that the truth. 15 years ago, there was a bar in Szentendre called tge Dixie Chicken. Same logo, too. It closed before I could go and ask the obvious question.

I think the answer to the obvious question is: "Aggies are everywhere!". Glad to see the webmaster worked his magic and PRESTO!
