I will be in Budapest this December with my adult daughter who is an avid horse rider. Are there any tack shops in Budapest we might visit?
Have you done a Google search? I see there are a few listed, but I don't know anything about them.
When you're in Vienna, look at https://shop.srs.at/gifts/riders-gear.html/ Google also lists several Vienna tack stores. Of the three cities, I think Vienna will be your best bet due to the Spanish Riding School.
Based on my expert knowledge on the subject ........ you are screwed, cause I dont know a thing. BUT, I did look at the various shops and given presentation, size and location I would go to this one: https://www.imaginelovas.hu/Kapcsolat 15 min from city center by taxi or there is a bus that runs right to it in about 35 min from city center.
You might also want to check these guys out. Horse riding is a pretty integral part of Hungarian History and they seem to be the ones promoting and preserving it. https://vagta.hu/ There is rarely an event in town where you dont see Hussars riding their horses. The current government even reconstructed the royal stables near the castle.

James, as ALWAYS, thank You!
You stretched me on that one. There is even a Lippen-whatever breeding farm, so I hear, left over from the imperial days? I just knew the Hungarians love their horses. I know a couple of Ukrainuan kids staying in town, their mother sent me photos from a local fair, photos of the kids dressed up like Hussars, complete with guns.
