Szechenyi Bath with teens

Hello,

We plan to go to Szechenyi Bath with our older teenagers. Only children over 14 are allowed in the indoor baths for safety reasons. One of our kids is about to turn 14. Has anyone who has been there recently seen whether they require any proof of age?

Thanks.

"Only children over 14 are allowed in the indoor baths for safety reasons."

This is incorrect, the sole bath with the over-14 rule is Rudas. At Széchenyi and everywhere else, the only rule is that babies need to be potty-trained.

The recommendation for indoor pools is that children under 14 use them cautiously. Basically just have some common sense, if they are turning pale, send them out.

Thank you! I have never been there, but from what I've read, it sound like the rule recently became more strict.

"Kindly note that only older teens, over 14 years old, are allowed to enter the hot water thermal pools in Szechenyi Bath. Underage (0-14 year old kids) are, unfortunately, not allowed, not even with a parent. If the pool master notices such an incident, guests will be asked to leave the pools....Kindly note that there is a third outdoor pool of 38 degrees that cannot be used by kids, as the mere temperature of the pools means a potential increase in the stress for the cardiovascular system of kids, whose body is not fully developed yet to be able to cope with the heat of the bath waters."

Reporting back after our visit. No one checked ages or blinked an eye at the younger teenagers in our group. We had a wonderful time and spent most of the time outside anyway. It was a highlight of our trip so far!

We went on Sunday morning around 9:30 and were pleasantly surprised that there was no line and almost no one in the locker rooms. We opted not to get a private changing room; we wore our suits under our clothes and so only needed to change out of wet clothes at the end. In both cases we were basically alone in the locker room. It may have been less crowded because it was cloudy out, or because it was Sunday morning. The crowds started picking up and we left around noon.
