I will be in Hungary over St. Istvan's Day and wondering what might be open or closed that day. Also, what festivities are there to partake in? Thanks.

http://usnery.com/events/st-stephens-day is one page that has a little info. See the arts and crafts fair listed towards the bottom. I haven't been in Budapest in August; just way too hot for me to have an enjoyable time in an un-air conditioned country. But I am going to imagine it is much like their March 15th celebration and you can expect activities on the Chain Bridge, up and down Andrassy ut and at he north end of Széchenyi István tér. I will also guess that museums are open as well as most restaurants.
