We just decided to book a spontaneous river cruise out of Budapest this week for the first week in July (figured great deal and I will be within my 90 days of having COVID- a gift from France in April). The Delta Fly Ready says not set up for this country. Does that mean there is no requirements now? Has anyone gone in recently by plane and has on the ground experience?
1) Got back a few weeks ago; and visit every 3 to 4 months.
2) No COVID entry requirements and no COVID requirements in the City.
3) BUT: on my last flight (Turkish Air) they insisted I have a PCR test even though it wasn't the requirement.
4) I could have argued it and eventually won, but I was cautious and got a test at Walgreens a few days prior.
5) The rules had just changed and I dont trust airlines, not even exceptional ones like Turkish Air.
6) If you want any other details PM me.
Thanks so much James E. We are flying Delta on a Tuesday evening through CDG airport to Budapest. Getting a PCR test on the weekend in my area is impossible as we have almost no cases right now (for the last 2 months)- no one testing on weekends anymore unless you have symptoms. We had planned to get a antigen test at CVS Monday afternoon for cruise ship. Would that make the airlines happy or did they only want a PCR test?
1) You wont have any problems (I bet). Go and have a great time
We arrived in Budapest three days ago. All Covid requirements for Hungary have been dropped- some places are still masking optional. I would not fly through CDG - that airport has the worst reputation in Europe.
Thank you so much. Unfortunately our options on Delta are CDG and Amsterdam and with everything that has been going on at that airport right now (strikes, cancellations ect) I opted for CDG. We had a very easy time in April coming in on same plane from Atlanta that lands at 6:10am.- we transitioned on to Lyon on Air France. We have 3 hours layover too.
I am on flight to Budapest from Prague. Your immigration will probably happen at CDG. then you should be free to fly like a local! In fact, they are requesting that people wear masks - but not enforcing it - on my RyanAir flight. No covid requirements
I also am flying Delta in July on July 9th to Budapest. And it also goes through CDG. I'm spending a week in Budapest and then hopping on a River Cruise too. Can't Wait! I think the FlyReady is just not set up for Hungary. I don't think it is determined on whether or not there are Covid Restrictions for the destination. It could also be determinate on time...We wouldn't be able to add our info until a week before the flight departs, maybe. ie., driver's license number, covid tests, etc.
Hope you have an awesome trip...this is trip redo 3 for me...so I have a lot of hope running on this trip. lol
Eve- that is what I think too. Have a great trip as well.
got back yesterday. ZILCH. no requirements. no masks. in fact, RyanAir was only "recommending" masks on the plane. Delta will tell you in an email if there is something. if you have the vaccine card that will fulfill all possible requirements even if they spring a surprise on you
on flight back to US, covid test is required and the airline asked me casually for a verbal yes but NO ONE enforced or checked thes test - neither airline (Lufthansa) nor the US aiport.
What a relief for it to be so easy. Thank you for the info.
Delta FlyReady seems to be available now...Which is a sign our trips are getting closer. :-)
Thanks for the info.
